QUESTION

Mark 14:12 (NIV)

[ The Lord's Supper ] On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus' disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"

Matthew 26:17 (NIV)

[ The Lord's Supper ] On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"

The High day or the Great day is mentioned in both Matthew and Mark known as the lord's supper

ANSWER The Lord's Supper

The term "the Lord's supper" occurs once in the scriptures, in 1 Corinthians 11:20 where Paul is explaining how the Lord intended his memorial to be celebrated. The Lord instituted this memorial whilst having the passover meal.

The "High day" or the "Great day"

In John's gospel, the Sabbath following the execution of the Lord Jesus is called a "High Day."  But the Gospels according to Matthew and Mark do not use the term High Day, neither does the gospel according to Luke

This is the sequence of events during the Feast of Unleaven Bread when the Lord Jesus was executed.

Firstly the passover lamb had to be slain after the time when the daily evening sacrifice was offered and before the sunset.

Afterwards, when the sun was fully set, The Lord ate the Passover meal with his disciples.

Afterwards, during that night, the Lord was arrested

Afterwards, the following afternoon, the Lord, was executed .

Afterwards the the Jews wanted the bodies removed before sunset because that would be the start of the "High Day"

John 19:31 (AV)
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was a high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Conclusion

The "High day" began the  next day after the eating of the Passover

So the "High Day" was not the same day as the Passover meal and was not known as the Lord's supper.
